The thing about art, in my opinion, is that to be an artist, you get to do whatever you want. Sometimes to do that, you may have to make some decisions that others don’t understand. That’s ok. Have a good reason, and then you do you.
If your art is good enough to sell, then sell it if you want to. If you want to have a career selling it, do it if you can, but selling it is not the reason for doing it.
Doing art can be the only reason for doing art. Be faithful to that, because that is guaranteed to work out for you, whether or not the selling or the career does.
